Happy Friday!

I hope everyone is gearing up for a great weekend and don't forget if you are one that changes time, clocks move ahead this weekend! To me that is a sure sign of Spring and that I soon won't be driving to work in the dark.

I have changed the date for the draw for the Tattered Floral die on my previous post see here.  I will be drawing from all comments left before midnight this Sunday night March 10 so if you haven't already left a comment please do so for your chance to win.  This will give the lucky winner a chance to join in on Tim Holtz's Tattered Floral Challenge

Still need some inspiration for your challenge...I was feeling a bit 'springy' when it came to this card.  The colors just can't help but make you smile.

*Items used: bazzill cardstock, tattered floral die, vintage lace decorative strip die, ranger's archival ink, distress ink, markers, stains and paints, ideology brads, snaps, and washers, crinkle ribbon, multi medium, rock candy stickles, stampers anonymous stamps: nature's moments and nature's discovery, ink blending tool, detail watercolor brush. (use 'ink&flour' and you will receive 10% off at Inspiration Emporium)

Inspiration Emporium has a monthly challenge each month where you can enter your creations based on a theme for that month.  This month's theme is Add A Little POP! Let your imagination go wild because that can mean adding colour, dimension, and even making it 3D.  By linking your art to their blog you not only welcome people to visit what you love to do but you also get your name in for 50 Emporium dollars

I have to say I have always loved to add colour to my stamping and this card is no exception but the dimension is also what makes this POP.

Started by stamping my image on watercolor paper with black archival ink so that I could cut and color different areas for layering.

When coloring I used a combination or distress stains(metallic) and markers along with a watercolor brush to move and blend.

Each layer had a different piece cut to create this final dimensional look using black pop dots.  On the final layer rock candy stickles and glossy accents were applied.

A piece of kraft resist was inked with various distress ink colors and then was embossed with the rays texture fade twice(so rays are going away from each other). I also rubbed a bit of the rock candy stickles in the embossed rays because lets just face it, I am addicted to them. To finish off the card a piece of crinkle ribbon was dyed with distress stains and a trinket pin added.

So, a pretty simple card with a lot of POP! I hope you all have a great weekend and hopefully get to do some creating of your own! h
